Awesome speech people make it to the WPS Speech Finals Tonight!

It started off as 'We have to do speeches this term kids!' Ms Clydesdale said. But instead of crummy speeches like last year, it turned out that Sharon, Jayden and Samuel bet the class, bet the syndicate and now they want to beat the school tonight!
And of course, all Room 11 knows they will win!

Brooke's timestables:

Last night, Brooke went to the Waiuku Cosmopolitan Club to sell raffle tickets for her mum's netball team. Then she had to do her timestables twice and count the money. She learnt that timestables aren't that hard any more, and that they are important for college and university. Brooke also decided that she needs timestables when she is an adult, so that when she goes into a shop she won't be ripped off by being given the wrong change.

World Famous in Waiuku!

Maddy's photograph was in the Franklin County News last night. A reporter came over to her house and asked all of her family why they liked Waiuku. They also asked us what activities they do, and Maddy said that she played netball every Saturday, and her brother said that he liked going fishing just up the road from her house. She was the only person in her house who said that she would move away from Waiuku when she was older, but they didn't print that in the article. Maddy felt happy that she was in the paper.

Chemical Reactions Rock!

Yesterday morning my science group and I found out that we were awarded 3rd equal in the school's science fair. We felt really great about it, because we stuffed up our entry and then we fixed it all up and then it looked much better.
Our question was does the colour of hair affect the amount of static electricity that it can hold, and we concluded that yes it does - darker coloured hair can hold more static electricity than lighter coloured hair.
Aidan and Jamie attended the science fair prize giving last night and were presented with a certificate - they felt very proud!

Success at the Syndicate Speech Competiton!

Sage said that it was nervewracking at the beginning and when she got up there, it was fun. Jayden went really well. Sage was about to cry when Sharon was saying her speech, and Samuel's spoke enthusisastically.

Sage is hoping that someone is sick or pulls out so that she can be the reserve.

Only 6 people went through to the school's speech finals and 3 of them are from Room 11!

Well done Room 11!
